MARK YOUR CALENDARS for Upcoming Community Events!
- Saturday, April 17, 8:30 AM, Semi-Annual Cashell Road Adopt a Road CleanupAssemble at Cashell School parking lot. (Rain date Sunday April 18).
- Saturday, May, 1, Community Yard Sale
- Thursday, May 20, Annual General Meeting to be held at Norbeck C.C.
Light refreshments to be served. Program to include a Candidates Night for all candidates for State legislature declared as of that date, as well as annual NMCA elections and adoption of the Budget for 2010-11.
- Saturday, September 11, 3 PM to Dusk, Annual Community Picnic at Norbeck Meadows Park. We need volunteers to help on this and anyone interested in helping out (cooking, BBQing, shopping, transporting, etc) should contact Arnie Gordon or Amy Crawford.
It's not too late to join the Social Committee - we have activities planned throughout the year and are always looking for more people to help or to dream up something new. Check out the activities planned for this summer and fall, and don't hesitate to contact any of the coordinators or me if you need more information or want to help.

Community Outreach Program
Jenny Heller is coordinating outreach programs to benefit local relief organizations. Norbeck Meadows will be preparing and delivering a meal four times per year to Sophias House, a Rockville womens shelter. Welcome Wagon
Our Welcome New Neighbors program is still working hard and still accepting recruits who would like to watch for new neighbors and help deliver baskets. If you are interested, please contact Christine Setzer or Michele Davidson.
Community Awareness
GOCA Meetings
The monthly meetings of the Greater Olney Civic Association (GOCA)
are no longer held at Longwood. GOCA now meets (on the second Tuesday of
each month starting at 7:45 pm) in the Buffington (Re/Max)Building, 3300
Olney-Sandy Spring Rd., in the center of Olney. (Enter from the rear of
the building directly into the community meeting room.)
If you have any community events you'd like to have posted in our Events section, you are encouraged to send them in!
Upper Rock Creek Activities
A copy of the Upper Rock Creek Master Plan Draft is now on the web.
Also if any person is interested in comparing the County Council Transportation Plan (yes, the Council has had a plan for a while now) to the Go Montgomery Plan it can be found on the Park and Planning web site [PDF file]
